We spent a few days last week working in a garden we built about five years ago. The plants have grown and so has my helper. You’ll notice some photos of my daughter when we installed this as well as some of her now.

Today was a processing day. A lot of lavender was cut, tied, and hung at Ridge Road Farm. Then I headed down the street to grind elk meat. Grateful for all that nature provides.

Starting to clear the lot for another large landscape installation.

Getting soil loaded at Sunland with my helpers this morning. Rocking out.

So my mom and I spend quality time together a little different. Today we placed some rocks at finished grade. We probably have one more day of concreting structural stones into this wall. A couple days of mortaring small rocks and pebbles . We have been at this project for some time and will be excited to see it finished. I’m excited to get pictures when the job site is all cleaned up. Stay tuned.

Photos of the Curtiss Trails garden in bloom this spring/early summer. We built this garden from scratch a few years ago but owners Jill Curtiss put in the work to make this garden personalized in her “whimsy” way. I am so grateful to have met and made friend with Jill, Roger, and Eddy the dog.

Today I finished welding 300ft of steel edging for the lawn and pathways at the Ronnie Hill Install. We are still placing plants according to our design and are excited to show some aerial photos of this one once they’re all in the ground.

I brought out my irrigation specialist today to help with some troubleshooting.

I have some extra help today. We are bringing 3 Gertrude Jekyll roses and one Grandiflora Potato Vine to plant at Ridge Road Farm

Picking up a 500lb step stone. This will be the top step for the Saltgrass Wall.

Appreciate Luke holding it down on the tractor and behind the drone today. Respect to the crew—moving cobble by hand to give the creek bed that natural contour and tall enough sides to retain the compost we are bringing in.

It’s been a busy month but better late than never ;)

We had a lot of fun building the Zen Garden. This house moved quick on the market. These are photos from the listing but I had to share.

We kicked off a big project this week.
Working closely with the homeowner, landscape designer, and dirt works contractor to bring this vision to life.

We removed over 20,000 sq ft of lawn and are replacing it with pathways, dry creek beds, and a lot of plants.

This one’s going to be a full transformation.

Such a nice day. Had to stop at the shop to grab some tools and the kids made the best of running errands with me.

Spring has arrived at Ridge Road Farm—and it’s putting on a show.

The Mount Fuji cherry is in full bloom, soft petals catching the light, while the first blooms are beginning to wake up the white garden. Quiet signs of the season turning, and the garden stretching back to life. 🌿✨

We’re out at the Curtis Trails property working on some ivy removal along this hillside.

Ivy creeps in quietly, but over time it takes over—climbing trees, smothering native plants, and weighing everything down. What looks green and harmless can slowly choke out an entire slope.

Removing it isn’t just cleanup, it’s restoration. It opens the ground back up to light, gives trees a break, and makes room for native plants to come back in.

This season always feels like a reset in the garden and in life. Warmer days, longer light, and that quiet shift where everything begins to wake up again.

This past year has been especially meaningful—caring for the garden of John and Toni Christianson has been a reminder of what it means to tend something with intention, patience, and respect for place. There’s a lot of wisdom in the soil when you slow down enough to listen.

What I appreciate most is how this work connects everything—family, community, and the land itself. My crew is family, my kids are often by my side, and getting to grow a business rooted in those values alongside other local families is something I don’t take lightly.

Spring is here. Time to get our hands back in the dirt.
