Collaboration, determination, and lots of materials allowed us to plant and irrigate this season at the Curtis Trails job. The next phase is to build a terraced raised bed area surrounded by an outcrop of rock at the top of the property.

Heuchera micrantha calls this boulder home. I’ve been enjoying this native huechera a lot this season. They’ve been propagating under my deck and I have been moving them into my gardens all spring.

Another fun garden we are excited to watch grow and fill out over the coming years. I was excited to add apple trees, blueberries, artichoke, kale, and herbs. Special thanks to Blackbird Landscaping for the amazing paver work.

I made this little mosaic with left over cement from a previous job I did for this customer. I think it’s fun.

We have been asked to remove a lot of lawns lately to make room for gardens and patios.

We often reuse old cardboard for a more natural weed suppression than conventional landscape fabrics. For this garden we covered with 3 way soil, planted, then finished with a locally sourced compost. A simple planting of Cryptomeria yoshino, miscanthus rotsilber, salvia purple Skyscraper, forsythia, and our native Sedum spathulifolium.

Asphalt driveway removal. Replacing with compacted gravel. We will also add steel edging around the planting beds to keep mulch from washing into the gravel.

It was a pleasure working along side these owners to achieve the perfect landscape for their family. Irrigation, edging, soil, plants, mulch, and sod.

Went to battle today; we won. The final boss at the end was a real wrestling match with the equipment at hand. Tight quarters also.
